Instructions
Stir together milk and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat on hob.
When the sugar is fully dissolved, add the baking soda (optional) and stir.
Keep the mixture at medium heat, stirring occasionally, about 2 hours.
Once the mixture begins to thicken, start stirring it continuously to avoid burning.
Transfer to a bowl to cool.
Store in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to couple of weeks.
